Celebrating Excellence: Michelle Johnson wins CARES Award

Michelle Johnson, JSDD Senior Manager has recently been honored with the CARES award for her exceptional contributions to JSDD. The CARES Award for Professional Excellence is awarded from Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, NJ to honor staff that support older adults in our community. This recognition comes as no surprise to those who have had the privilege of witnessing Michelle’s unwavering commitment to excellence and compassion.

Michelle joined JSDD in November 2021 as the Millburn Manager, she was promoted to Senior Manager in December 2022. One of the key reasons Michelle has been recognized is her unwavering dedication to delivering services of the highest caliber. Each day, she goes above and beyond to ensure that every individual she supports receives the care and attention they deserve. She views each JSDD resident as a unique individual with their own set of abilities and needs, ensuring that their approach is tailored to meet each person where they are.

Jennifer Fay, JSDD Director of Nursing was there to celebrate Michelle at the awards ceremony. When asked about Michelle, Jen said “Michelle epitomizes the essence of compassionate leadership. Her unwavering dedication to the well-being of our residents transcends mere duty; it’s a heartfelt commitment to excellence that resonates in every aspect of her work. Michelle’s empathetic approach and tireless efforts not only enhance the quality of life for those under her care but also inspire the entire team to strive for the highest standards of compassionate support and nurturing.”

Michelle is also constantly seeking to improve skills and stay up to date with best practices. She is currently part of the JSDD: Life | Home | Tech team that is bringing individualized technology to support the greater independence of JSDD residents. Michelle understands that the field of disability support is ever-evolving, and she is committed to staying at the forefront of these changes to provide the best possible care.
