Sunday, July 28th over 100 artists’, friends, fans and staff gathered to look at the first Matheny Arts Access / WAE Center collaborative exhibit to be held in Heidi Gallery. While Arts Access at Matheny and the WAE Center have been working together on summer exhibits for over ten years, this is the first time that the works of each organizations’ artists are co-mingled in a single space. The resulting exhibit is breathtaking, eclectic and speaks volumes about the depths of originality in this group of artists. As is often the case, artists work and create in a singular manner and so the discovery of one another’s work in a common space creates enormous excitement and connection.
The curator and installer of this years’ exhibit is the new Heidi Gallery manager, Jeremy Moss. He brings decades of experience to the challenge of arranging disparate works in multiple mediums into a cohesive arrangement that speaks to the viewer. This exhibit is a visual feast of color, movement, technique and medium!
Summer Symbiosis will be on exhibit through August 18th, and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm and by appointment. All artwork is for sale and all questions can be directed to HeidiGallery@jsdd.org
