Flourish Exhibit - JDAIM 2025
February 1 – February 28
Flourish
Verb (of a person, animal, or other living organism) grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favorable environment.
To sow seeds, nurture growth, and enjoy the bounty of one’s investment of energy. This process of taking bloom can be experienced in the world of horticulture, creativity and humanity. This exhibit is an exploration of all that we sow here at the WAE Center and the many ways that fruit, flowers, hearts, minds and skills subsequently flourish.
In honor of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) Heidi Gallery is proud to present the most recent work of the members of the WAE Center at JSDD.
Opening Reception - Open to the Public
Sunday, February 2, 2pm – 4pm
Workshop - Botanical Light Bowl
RSVP Required.
Free and Open to the Public.
Sunday, March 2, 2pm – 4pm
Led by Arts Educator Faye Graye, you will create a delicate light bowl crafted from humble toilet paper and dried flowers. Layering the paper and flower petals painted with clear glue over a balloon to create a spherical, semitransparent piece of art. The final addition of a battery powered tea light in the center delicately illuminates the space with your creation.
Heidi Gallery seeks to welcome guests of all abilities and make their experience as accessible as possible! Please contact HeidiGallery@JSDD.org to request a specific accommodation.
Made possible by funds from the Essex County Department of Cultural Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
