Celebrating Shabbat Together: A Monthly Gathering for JSDD Residents

Earlier this year, JSDD residents began coming together once a month to celebrate Shabbat in person. The joy of community and tradition is palpable each month as the participants gather to welcome Shabbat in person. The evening begins with blessings over the candles, challah, and grape juice, setting a serene and spiritual tone for welcoming Shabbat.

Together for Shabbat

February 2, 2024, the JSDD community came Together for Shabbat for a very special evening made possible through a grant from the Centennial Shabbat Committee and our Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest N.J. It was a night to celebrate 100 years of community service in addition to the beginning of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM).

Staff Milestones and Holiday Parties

JSDD continues to grow and broaden its work through Residential Services, WAE Center, Therapeutic Services and Heidi Gallery programming. None of this work would be possible without the skill and passion of our stellar staff. Typically, there are two parties thrown to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company, relax and celebrate the years’ accomplishments.
