As technology continues to transform daily life, JSDD: Life | Home | Tech (LHT) is at the forefront of expanding opportunities for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and older adults to live more independently. By integrating enabling technology solutions, LHT is helping individuals to remain in their homes and communities of their choice – maintaining richer, more fulfilling lives for all.
Life | Home | Tech’s team led by Program Manager, Susan Nasberg-Abrams, and including Aubrie George, Randee Lesser and Jessica Goldstein, are all certified by Tech First SHIFT as Enabling Technology Integration Specialists. Additionally, Susan is certified as a CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist). The team brings deep knowledge and enthusiasm to the program’s mission: working with individuals to achieve their personal goals through technology-driven solutions that promote independence, safety, and peace of mind for individuals, families, and caregivers alike.

The Life | Home | Tech team have been invited to speak at conferences, to community organizations and caregiver groups, where they deliver informative and interactive presentations on the power of enabling technology. The engaging talks go beyond just smartphones and tablets—introducing audiences to innovative tools that support daily living, communication, and community engagement for people of all abilities.
The presentations are conversations that inspire change. Susan and the LHT team bring real-life insights into how the right tools can enhance independence and improve quality of life for attendees or people they know and love.

These interactive meetings feature hands-on demonstrations that allow participants to experience how technology can support their personal lifestyle. Whether discussing integrated smart home systems, stand-alone devices that can be used without Wi-Fi, or safety solutions these presentations and classes make complex topics accessible and
practical for everyone.
Attendees leave with knowledge and a new perspective on what’s possible. A fresh understanding of how technology can bridge gaps, foster independence, and provide peace of mind for caregivers and families. Each session is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and explore how innovation can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
