Soft Sculpture Paper Collages

Octahedrons are eight-sided soft sculpture paper collages, designed with colorful graphic arts paper and geometric shapes. Eight 3.5-inch circles are created using a dye cut circle puncher. Each circle is then folded into a triangle and glued together, four on top and four on the bottom. The two sections are glued together to form the sphere. An additional three-dimensional effect is created by layering graphics and geometric shapes onto foam core squares that are glued to the sphere. A fishing line is attached to the top of the octahedron for hanging purposes, ribbons are attached to the bottom to produce a stream of color.
