African Drum, Dance & Song with Lara Gonzalez and Special Guest Artist, Master Drummer, Sanga-Of-The-Valley
Sunday, January 5th, 2025, 2pm – 4pm
Experience an interactive exploration of beautiful healing rhythms, dances and songs from West Africa and beyond.
Join Lara Gonzalez, Artistic Director and founder of Marafanyi Drum, Dance & Song as she guides audience members through content including traditional music, dance, language and the introduction to indigenous instruments. This is Lara’s first performance in Heidi Gallery, and she is being joined by her mentor and teacher, Sanga -Of-The-Valley. Bringing with them a holistic approach to music and dance that is fun, encouraging and accessible to people of all abilities. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own shakers and light percussion instruments.
