I am often asked: ‘how does Heidi Gallery impact WAE members?’, by visitors to the Gallery here at the JSDD building…the gallery often being their first port of call.
It just so happens that the perfect answer to that query has recently presented itself!
Last Spring, during the juried exhibition ‘Threads’, the WAE member sewing club came to Heidi Gallery to view the exhibit. The members were clearly excited by what they saw, asking questions such as, ‘can we do this?’ and ‘can we take picture of that?’. It was truly magical to see how inspirational the art of fiber was to them.
Fast forward a few months, and we all get to witness the power of creativity; its inspiration and aspiration.
Below are pictures of the two artworks from the ‘Threads’ exhibition by Ann Vollum and Joan Carter. Next to them are the artworks of Margo R. and a collaborative piece by Maria F, Eve H, Kristen I, Daniel M, Rachel P, Erin R and Grace S.
I will say it again, the power of creativity, its inspiration and aspiration.
