Pick Up the Beat with a Performance by The Defending Champions
JSDD’s Wellness, Arts, Enrichment (WAE) Center concludes the 8th season of its Global Beat Series with the engaging music of THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS. The production is presented FREE of charge, in cooperation with the Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton Avenue, where the production will take place at 7 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013.
Described by Jersey Rock Review as “… what is needed in popular music today,” and in their own words, writing music “intended for the mobilization of the human,” The Defending Champions promise to deliver a delicious mix of Rock, Soul, Ska, World and Gypsy music in this performance. Their infectious energy and rock solid musical talent will delight audience members of all ages.
This group of local musicians has performed all over the Tri-State area. Their most recent album, “Breakfast of …The Defending Champions,” has been nominated in the Outstanding Album category in this year’s Hoboken Music Awards. Verona resident Dean Nevolis, a visual artist as well as a talented musician, is not only a founding member of this band, but is also Assistant Manager and Artist Facilitator for the WAE Center’s Art Studio.
